Shine - a free, professional style with a side column

Shine is designed for the professional forum with room for advertising, affiliates, links, etc.

Click on the "Install" button on the right of this post, then download the zip file to your computer and extract it (I put it on my desktop, it's easier to remember where I put it!).
Open your ftp client to your server. Go to your forum's images folder, open it, and create a styles folder.
Next, upload the Shine folder via FTP to your server, into the styles folder, so that your image path is images/styles/shine/buttons, for example.
After you've uploaded the folder, open your admin control panel on your forum, and import the xml file, by going to Styles & Templates > Download / Upload styles > Import Style XML File.
Click on the Browse button, locate the xml file for shine, and double-click it, so it loads in that box, then hit the Import button.




You'll find a blank logo in PNG format, for easy editing.

This is so cool... Is it hard to make it black and white and greyscale with a black background?

With this particular skin? I've not tried.

I am using 3.8.2 and it says this is for 3.8.1 and it wont work... is there naything I can do to use this great skin?

Actually Im uising 3.8.2 and it says it was made with a different version and wont install :(

Ok its cool I just opened the xml file and renamed 3.8.1 to 3.8.2 and its ok... I notice after entering the main forum, the side colum disappears.... is there a way to make a side column on every page? thanks!

Actually this style will work on 3.8.2. You took the long way around. When you go to import the xml all you have to do is select yes where it says "ignore style version". :)

The side column on this style is for forumhome only. If you want a side column on all pages, there are a couple of mods at vbulletin.org that will accomplish this for you.
