Hiya folks!
I'd like to offer my apologies for not having created any new styles lately, nor updated the current ones to 3.8.4. Please rest assured that the current versions of all of our styles will work fine on 3.8.4, so no worries there. I will, however be updating them to the current 3.8x version during the month of October. Better late than never, eh? ;)
The reason that I am so behind is that I have launched a new general chat website called the Kawfee Klub. I'd love it if you'd drop in, join, and enjoy us.
Another new website is in the works as well. Many of you know that I have a 9 yr old son who is diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome (AS) and ADHD. The new website/forum is called "I Need To be Me". The reason I chose that name is that most parents of kids with disorders of any kind are always looking for a cure or a "fix" for their child. Some are so obsessed with this that they forget to accept their child just the way they are and celebrate their uniqueness and differences. This makes me wonder how many children ask themselves "what is so wrong with me that I have to be "fixed"? Why can't I just be me?". Further, how many of us without any diagnosed disorders ask ourselves the same question? "Why can't they just accept me for me, and not try to change me?".
'I Need To Be Me' is a conceptual site - it has a dual purpose.
It will be a support site where both parents of kids with these disorders, and adults diagnosed with these disorders, can come to talk and seek support from those who understand. We will be there for each other to talk, sympathize, encourage, and hold each other up through the rough times and celebrate the good times.
It will be a site where we can all make new friends, discuss many topics un-related to disorders (from family to hairstyles to sports, and more), start a blog, play in an arcade, post photos in their personal album, and much more.
If you're interesed in joining me on this venture, I'm glad to have you along for the ride! I'll be posting updates here on our progress towards opening day, which is, at the moment, Thursday, October 1.
Keep us in your prayers please!
Thanks
Peggy
