This is a very feminine style, with a fixed (stationary) background, and scrolling forums.

Download the attached Zip file, and unzip to your computer.
Upload the entire bfly folder into your forum/images directory, so that your path is images/bfly
Import the xml file by going to your ACP --> styles and templates --> download/upload styles --> browse --> select the xml file where you have it save on your computer --> import

If you need the header customized, post your request here.

NOTE - this style is available only for the version 3.6 series, and will not be upgraded to 3.7.

Your layout when I click on this demo is great - I love it! If you go to wwwgymbofriends.com - their layout is much more narrow than this one. Would you be able to give me any tips as to how I can make it look like this one OR am I already getting that by downloading this skin? I love how wide you have the page.

I don't believe that you would be able to make the skin on that site any wider - it appears to be a fixed skin.

The butterfly design you can make wider or narrower - it is what's called a "fluid" skin.

I don't own that gymbo forum - but I was hoping to have the wider one like the butterfly - so that's great. That's something you do when you set it up or do I need to do that w/in vB?

You're very welcome.

What you're asking for is a coding issue, not a design issue. I have no idea at all how to put more space between the categories. I use a hack to get the space I do have.

However, I realize that there is something wrong with the skin. Because the "rep power" doesn't display, only the pip displays, so the members can't see how many points they get.

It's not the skin that I know of. Have you checked your user reputation settings in vBulletin Options? If they're all set, you'll need to look in your postbit_legacy template and make sure that the code for that didn't get deleted somehow. I know I didn't delete it, even tho I don't use it.

kellogs, yes I can do a header for you. as for the image, please take the navbits_finallink.gif image and rename it to navbits_finallink_ltr.gif. This is a change that occurred in the 3.6.6 upgrade.

i have uploaded it to my site but it seems that some of the gifs are deleted mainly :bot_left.gif, bot_right.gif, cat_left.gif and cat_right.gif. It sais that it has to be in the
images/misc file but it is't there :(

There are no images like that in this skin. I don't know how you installed it, lol, but whatever you did, those images aren't in this skin.

All I can tell you is that I can't replace images that were never designed for this theme.

I have no idea what you did, lol. Pink Butterflies is NOT designed with cat_left.gif or any of the other that are showing an x. In fact, NONE of my forum themes are designed with those images. That's why you're getting the x's. Somehow, some way, the templates were changed during installation. I really do not know.

Did you happen to install this as a child style rather than a parent style? If you did, it may well be taking on the characteristics (templates and image placement) of the parent style.

I think you should completely uninstall it and reinstall it again. If it still does this, you may not be able to use it.

it was true peggy because i added butterfly style as default style it was mixes with another style i dont know if i discribed it right but it is now working good after i deleted the other styles and uploaded butterfly style thanks;)

You will find that in your ftp program. You do have ftp correct?

we paied someone else to set up the forum..

(I bet as soon as we figure it out we will be kicking our selfs that it was sooo easy!)

Actually it's not easy. FTP is a software that you have to download to your computer, and configure it to your host account, in order to upload files and images to your forum.

so since someone else set up the forum for us we wouldnt have it...:(

You can do a Google search for Smart FTP - that's the one I use. I'm not sure if there's a manual or not, but I imagine there would be. You really do need an ftp program on your computer if you're running a forum, as there's always going to be something that you'll need to upload to the server.

or you can go to download.com or the filezilla site to download filezilla. Its free and pretty simple to use. Your host should of given you or whoever acquired the hosting all the info in a welcome email to access the ftp

but the wysiwyg editor buttons aren't showing....

must be a mix up during an upgrade...

that's the weird thing, in the stylevars, the path is set correctly:

What directory are the images actually residing in, on your site?

the actual physical images are residing in the default directory, i.e:

example.com/forum/images/bfly/editor

but theyre not appearing on the editor buttons. pressing properties on the x where the images are supposed to be gives this path:

example.com/images/bfly/editor

so it seems the forumdir is missing somewhere...

First check in vboptions and see what you forum URL is set to. It sounds like it may be set to example.com and not example.com/forum. This is located in vboptions under Site Name / URL / Contact Details


Or you can try this:

You can try going into the actual style in adminCP and editing All Style Options for this style and then scroll down to Image Paths and if it has the paths set as

images/bfly/

add forum/ in front of the word images to each line. See if that fixes it.

ACruz, attached is your header image, per your request. Just click on the attachment, then right-click on the image and save. Upload it to your bfly/misc folder. Enjoy!

Ok, got it going... What I did (and was probably supposed to but didn't realize) is:

Went into Download/upload Styles, and at the top where it has download I selected pink butterflies and it had the vbulletin-style.xml that I had imported as stated in instructions, and then I hit download under the download section and this seems to have applied the changes.

Actually that's not what you have to do to make it default, lol. In your acp, go to vBulletin Options > styles and languages. There's a place there to make this theme the default. Select it and hit save.
