Rolf, I like smilies on your forum, where you got them? Will you share with me?

If anyone wants them, I have a folder of about 100 or so smilies. I can zip them up and share them :)

I also have some adult-type smilies. I don't have them all in one folder but I can do that tonight and zip them up if anyone wants them.

Just packing mine up into a zip, there is a 1.7MB folder full of them. :)

Can someone tell me how i can and where i need to upload them now?

All you need to do is weed out the ones you don't want, then upload them to your smilie folder.

Go into Admincp, Smilies, Add new smilie, add multiple smilies, change the show per page to something like 15 or 20.

You will then see a list of smilies, you can change titles and code, I precede most of my smilie codes with :- (eg: :-Grin)and get very few accidental showings. :)

Right now my smilies are on the side, yours are on the bottom, how do you determine that?

Oh, my gosh, thank you Rolf. I can't beleive you have to have mod or hack for every little thing. I have done left column hack only, that was a big deal for me. Ok, i guess i have to learn.
The problem with hacks is that sometimes you have to reinstall them with the upgrade. And if you have a lot , then more work. I am not lazy though.

Yes, it is a problem, I now appreciate what Chris, the technical admin on Satellites.co.uk has had to put up with over the last eight years, as we have lots of stuff installed there. :)

Oh yes Rolf i was gonna ask you how old is your sattelite forum. Wow 8 years ! Was it hard at the start ? I almost don't know any admins with this much experience. I only know one gyu from England, he has a professional pilot forum, for 10 years.

Ok, I saved the smiles, but it was long ago, I never was able to put them, because of the hack , so now my members are demanding new smiles, I have to do it. I guess I ll keep them on the side, like Peggy here. I will try to follow Rolf's instructions.
If anybody wants to give me more instructions, on how to do it, please, I need it. I haven't gone into admin panel, for a while now, only to save the backup. Is it hard to put them?

No ma'am. Upload these smilies, via FTP to your forums' smilies folder. Then in your acp -

scroll down to Smilies, expand that menu
click on Add new smilies
then on the right, where it says Add Multiple Smilies, click on the Add Smilies button.
Then you'll see all the smilies you just uploaded and can add them as you like.

I somehow uploaded the ones I liked, I even named the categories like Peggy, extra..,
how do I determine which ones will be showing to the member in the box, I spent 2 hours and didn't figure it out :(

You don't. They rotate, I believe.

Oh, well, now all my jumpy smilies, are jumping there, so I need them to be in the misc.

Peggy are you busy, can you install the smilies for me ? I probably should write in the service request.

Julia, if you assign each of them a unique number, they will always appear in that order.

If all of them are sharing the same number, then you'll see them rotating.
