I want to reinstall Windows Xp soon, as I got a virus and after cleaning the computer doesn't work as smooth as before. I gives some strange erros and sometimes it justs hangs up... I want to backup Outlook Express emails and settings before reinstall, and restore afterwards. Any help?

The simplest way is to get one of the many Outlook backup utilities available. Doing a quick google search this was the first one in the results list
http://www.outlook-express-backup.com/
or if you want to do things manually then you can read how in the Microsoft Knowledge Base
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/270670
Strange this is the second request to do this I have answered today but the other poster said they wanted to upgrade from Windows ME

Hello riny, welcome to Themes By Design, lol.

And thanks for the help Doc. Since this isn't a computer/Windows/OE support forum, and I know little about the tech side of either, riny wouldn't have gotten any help otherwise ;)

Thank you very much for your suggestion.
That was just like what I needed. However, if I am to choose between a manual backup and a automated one ( made by a software ) I would go
with the last one, because I'm not the "do it your self" type, and I'm afraid of the possibility of losing it if I don't do the backup just right. Too bad the OE Quick Backup has been discontinued.. Sounded like a nice application. However, after searching for similar software tools on the web I've found several , such as http://www.amicutilities.com/outlook-express-backup/
This look like my problem is solved.
Thank you!
