Automatic subscribe to thread

How to automatically subscribe to threads which user have posted with no-email notification instead of doing subscribing manually everytime.

I mean it should get automatically subscribed once user do a posting on that thread.

You can easily do that with all your new member registrations, but I don't know of a way to make the change retro-active. Maybe one of the gurus will know how it can be accomplished.

Admin CP > vBulletin Options > User Registration Options > Default Registration Options > Automatic Thread Subscription Mode > Subscribe with no notification > Save

Go into your UserCP > Options > Thread Notification > Select your preference - Do Not Subscribe/No Email Notification/Daily Notification, etc. Save

Peggy, can an Admin 'force' that option onto all current users? I was looking to see if that option was available, but it doesn't seem that it is.

Sure can. Go to ACP > vBulletin Options > User Registration Options.

Scroll down to the bottom to Default Registration Options. This is where you set what you want the person to see when they're registering. If they don't change anything, what you set is what they'll get. But of course, they do have the option to change most of those settings.

Automatic Thread Subscription Mode is what we're talking about here.

Will the changes you described above have any effect on the users who have already registered, or will it just affect the users that register after the change is made?

I suppose I could just go play with it on my own, but I'm liable to forget what I wanted to test afore I get there. People say the memory is the first to go, but I have evidence that is not true. I can't recall, offhand, what that evidence actually is, but I have it around here. Somewhere... :giggle:

I'm sorry sweetie. The instructions above are just for new users.
After registration, each member can change their own default subscription settings.

Just go into your userCP, and Edit options. Scroll down to Messaging and Notification/Default Thread Subscription Mode, change in dropdown menu and save.
