I like how google has their banner always decorated for the holidays. How hard is it to put a little picture beside the banner ? For example Halloween is coming up, I wouldn't change the whole skin like some admins do, but put a little spider or something by the banner, just a little touch up.
It is quite simple to add 'decoration' for holidays, as an eample (I hope you don't mind me borrowing your design Peggy)

Oh, Doc, can you teach me, please, where do you get a spider, and how you put it there? Oh, maybe Peggy or someone make a tutorial, please?

Nice job Doc! lol. Julia unless you have a graphics software on your computer, it would be nearly impossible to teach you. I'm sure one of us could do one up for you tho.

I think I have it, because I once made a banner for my site, a very simple one. I have GIF.
I would love for you to make me one, but you know how many holidays we have in a year, so if I learned how to work with VB, I maybe can learn that. I know Chris once had a tutorial but you know he closed down.
OK Julia a quick tutorial on how to add 'seasonal elements' to your logo.
Open up a copy of your logo in your graphics program (I am using Xara Xtreme Professional here)

Now we need to create a simple spider so first step is to draw the body
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y162/IamtheDoc/3.png
Draw a leg
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y162/IamtheDoc/4.png
Add the other legs
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y162/IamtheDoc/5.png
Add the eyes and mouth
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y162/IamtheDoc/6.png
Now adjust the size and place it on the logo - dont forget to draw the thread he is hanging from

There that was easy wasn't it
Nearly forgot to add make sure you keep a copy of your original logo as trick or treat doesn't last all year so you will want to replace it with the normal logo by the end of October.

Doc, thank you so much, I am going to try, it doesn't look so hard. :thanks:
My husband thinks I shouldn't do it myself, and have somebody do it professionally. Well, I can at least try.
Give it a try, otherwise you will never know if you can do it or not! If you intend to have a number of logos for different seasons give each a meaningful name like logo_easter.gif logo_xmas.gif then you can upload them all to your server and just change the logo name when you need to.
