I am owned by Tango, an 11 year-old Moluccan Cockatoo. He told me a couple of weeks ago that he wanted to be more than a legend in his own beak. He wanted me to start a vbulletin board about "The Good Times" of companion bird ownership. But, he wanted me to be sure and give plenty of facts about the right and wrong parrots to own.
I told Tango that I would search the net for a forum where a newbie would feel comfortable asking "Where is the Yellow Brick Road" questions.
Looks like from perusing this site I can tell Tango that this might be the place.
Here's a 2 minute animoto video (http://animoto.com/play/c6f17d0b931663856d63c35857937729) of Tango.

What a beautiful cockatoo! Was Tango hiding from the cat, back behind the Scoop Away container? ;)

Mike, Peggy:
Tnx for the welcome.
We have 1 Samoyed, 1 Australian Shepherd and 1 Calico Cat. Tango is the undisputed King and no one is thinking about a coup.
Moluccan Cockatoos when they're threatened puff up to twice their size and hiss like a cockaroach. Their beak can exerts 700 lbs of pressure and can easily snap a child's finger. This is one of the reasons I'm starting a forum on Parrots. Too many unsuspecting potential parrot owners buy the wrong parrot.

Hey Neithersparky.
Parrot Universe (http://parrotuniverse.com), which btw received much design help from Peggy is still in the development stage. You can take a peek and even enter the contest.
I have about 5 podcasts in the editing stage. The forum will mainly feature what's it like to own a specific species of parrot as well as techy stuff on digital media.
