3.7 and new skins

Hi

I haven't upgraded to 3.7 as yet but I'm aware that my current skins may not be compatible. I use skins from here and some from another site but I can't decide what to do for the best.

Do I wait and see if my current skins are upgraded or do I purchase a custom skin. If I decide to have a custom skin is it possible that I can have that upgraded with each new version of vB?

Any advice would be much appreciated as I don't know what to do for the best :)

Joy, I usually upgrade all of my themes here with each vBulletin version upgrade. The only reason I haven't upgraded this site to 3.7 is because it's still in beta testing. As soon as it gets to at least RC1 (RC = Release Candidate, which is the step before GOLD), I'll be upgrading this site, and all of these themes.

However, if you wanted to upgrade to 3.7 now or soon, I don't see that these themes will have much of a problem with compatibility. There are a few template changes to 3.7, but in most of my themes, there are few, if any, template edits.

I can't speak for the other site that you use, but for me, if you want to go ahead and upgrade to 3.7 (I did on TalkOhio), then do it. If there are any glitches with my themes, I'll see what I can do.

As for a custom theme, if you have me design and install it, then yes, I do provide upgrades with each vB version upgrade. However, most of the time, none are needed, as my styles usually upgrade seamlessly with the vB version and few template reverts are needed.

Thanks for your reply Peggy :)

I'm in no rush to upgrade to 3.7 but we are currently discussing it at my forum as we can't decide what to do. It's nice to know that if we have any problems with the current skins you are willing to help. It's also good to hear you would do the same for custom themes - thank you
