I'm just getting ready to purchase the VBulletin software and have a few quesions.

1) I love the shine layout and color scheme. But to go with the rest of my website, I need the areas in black to be changed to red, about the color that your name is in Peggy. Is that something I can do myself once I download the skin or something you'd need to do for me? Or is it even doable? The black across the top might have to be changed to white or a white box inside it so my logo, which is in burgandy and gold will show up.

2) I read on one of the forums that 3.7 has some bugs in it still, should I download it or a different version?

3) I'd originally purchased WOW Board, I like the features in VBulletin, but the WOW board skin I have is very clean and user friendly. Does anyone know the differences and advantages of VBulletin over WOW?

4) When I get out of the main fourm on the shine skin, I can't find a link easily to go back to the main forum page, the only way I found to naivgate was by clicking on the "jump to" box on the bottom. Am I just missing something. I want a forum with a lot of control in the admin area, with options for users, but I also want one very user friendly.

Thanks,
Southern

I found the answer to question number 4 and went ahead and purchased vbulletin. I still need the answers to questions 1 and 2 if anyone can help me.

Thanks,
Southern

Hiya.

#1 - If you're handy with Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, then you can change any of the images that you'd like to. The black strips are just black tho, no images. So you can change the black to the color of your choice in the Main CSS section of the Shine theme.

#2 - I'm using beta 5 on this site, and have had no problems as of yet. On my other site, TalkOhio, I've been using 3.7 since beta 3, again with no problems. While the powers-that-be at vBulletin.com don't recommend running a live forum on a beta script, of this particular one, I can say, I think it's pretty safe to do so. But that's just my opinion, not an official one, you understand ;)

Good luck with your new vBulletin!
