I meant to ask... when I make my own buttons do they have to be the same size as your default buttons?
For instance, my friend has a vB site and I made a set for my site based off the sizes of his -- which are different than the ones here.
My point is can they be any size?

They can be any size at all, but general rule of thumb is, the smaller the better.
I generally try to make my buttons around, oohhhh, say 96w x 20 to 25 tall. Anything larger than that takes up alot of postbit room. Of course there are alot of designers who don't care how big they make 'em, lol

Are there any tutorials or guides to help with building button sets?
I'd like to have some nice custom Disney-style ones for my site (www.WaltDisneyBoards.com (http://www.WaltDisneyBoards.com)) and figured that I'd start working on them.
Any thoughts?

as a rule of thumb, I like to make the three forum buttons - New Thread, New Reply (or Add Reply), and Closed - at about 100px wide x 20px high. The height, of course is negotiable.
The smaller buttons - quote, edit, forward, reply (reply_small.gif is the name of that one), send pm, email, home and find - usually about 80 x 18 or 20 high.
The smaller 3 buttons - multiquote_on, _off, and Quickreply - I try to go with a narrower version of the 80 x 18 buttons above, such as 30 or 40 x 18. Keeps those postbit buttons nice and symmetrical.
