Shine

Shine, one of my most popular themes, has been upgraded, and re-designed a bit, for 3.7.2. Shine offers you -

A built-in left side column
separated forum categories
95% original images.
Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional

LIVE DEMO (http://www.themesbydesign.net/forums/index.php?styleid=90)

Click on the "Install" button on the right of this post, then download the zip file to your computer and extract it (I put it on my desktop, it's easier to remember where I put it!).
Open your ftp client to your server. Go to your forum's images folder, open it, and create a styles folder.
Next, upload the Shine folder via FTP to your server, into the styles folder, so that your image path is images/styles/shine/buttons, for example.
After you've uploaded the folder, open your admin control panel on your forum, and import the xml file, by going to Styles & Templates > Download / Upload styles > Import Style XML File.
Click on the Browse button, locate the xml file for shine, and double-click it, so it loads in that box, then hit the Import button.

The left-side column is located in the forumhome template. Scroll down to $navbar, and just under that you'll see the commenting for the side column. The title goes in the title block, of course, and your code goes where you see Enter your code, text, image here. NOTE, this side column is for forumhome only. It will not work on every page, and I don't plan to make one that does.

You'll find a blank logo in PNG format, for easy customizing.

Enjoy! :D

No it isn't however it should still work for 3.7.1 as there were no layout changes in the update. Just click YES to ignore the style version when importing the xml and it should work.

ok did you read and follow the instructions closely? Be sure that you created the styles folder inside the images folder and uploaded the images for this theme into the styles folder.

Go back to the first post of this thread and read it again. It can be confusing sometimes. I'd help more but I'm at work and can't get to certain things that I'd need in order to do so.

Hey sweat pea, hope you are doing well ...

If I remember, you use PSP for your graphics design, can you share with me the font you used for the Shine header so that I can match it up on the blank png?

Many thanks on another great theme.

Hiya darlin'! The font is ALS script. If you can wait a couple of hours, I can attach the zip here. I just got a new puter and I'm moving things over - haven't gotten to the fonts yet, but intend to next.

EDIT - here ya go.

Thank you so much for this nice template! I love your directions, they are very easy to understand. I've tried to install other templates before, but the directions almost seemed like they were in a different language.

Thanks so much,
Rebecca
