Fall Days

Fall is my favorite time of year, so I chose these rich fall-ish
colors to design Fall Days.

NOTE: this theme has been customized for postbit_legacy.
(See screenshot #2) If you use regular postbit, it will
not look as nice.



Download the attached Zip file, and unzip to your computer.
Upload the entire falldays folder into your forum/images directory, so that your path is images/falldays
Import the xml file by going to your ACP --> styles and templates --> download/upload styles --> browse --> select the xml file where you have it save on your computer --> import

Remember to leave our copyright and link in the footer.

Just noticed that although there are 71 downloads of the style, only 11 members have clicked the install button, so i guess that there are a lot of unregistered users who have also installed and are enjoying using the style Peggy. :)

I don't think so - only registered members can download from the site.
How can you tell how many downloads there have been?

Next to the attachment, it says 71 views, which means that 71 people have clicked on it Peggy, not sure whether it counts people who click but cannot download. :)

Hmmm - well, I logged out and tried to d/l it and couldn't. Had someone else try who isn't a member, and he couldn't either. So I dunno.
All of my permissions are set to not allow guests to download.

You actions haven't changed the counter, so 71 members must have downloaded it. :)

You should also be able to tell in Admincp how many times each attachment has been downloaded.

Yeah I know, I was just trying to keep non-members from being able to download in the future. I'll have to work on it when I get home from work.

There should be a blank header in the misc folder. It's in JPG format, as I don't use PSD's.

hi, i really like some of these designs and am thinking of attempting an install myself. is it hard to remove the title out of the theme?

Are you talking about the header image? Not at all. Most of them come with a blank header image for easy customizing. Or you can insert another image of about the same size, and change the image name in either the header or the StyleVars area, depending on which theme it is.

Yep absolutely upload the images to your server first. Just follow the instructions in the first post of this thread.

Steve, in order to put the avatar and info on the left -

- login to your acp
- go to vBulletin Options
- Style & Language settings
- scroll down to Use Legacy (Vertical) Postbit Template
- click yes and save.

You'll need to go into the StyleVars for this theme and change the title image name to fallheader.jpg

hi peggy, how about if i want a larger header, covering most of the width of the screen and centralized? would that involve much?

also ive been using this code for an image and url link, id like to use the same code as the header, is that possible and where would i place it?

ok ive just worked out how and where i can use that code, but not how to centralize it, that would be great if someone could share that!

i got the banner up, i just need to centralize it now, and if possible make a break above it and below it? looks a bit cluttered

Hi Steve, to center your logo you need to alter the 'header' template. Below is the first few lines of code from one of my forums (the key is the align="center" instruction)

thanks doc.....the centre command is already in there it seems, i played around and changed the cell spacing form 0 to 8.........didnt have a clue what that meant but its sort of done the job

The bold/red code is where you would put anything - a banner, image, google adsense code, etc., where the red &nbsp; is.

ok i think i follow....i need to play. im assuming the software wont auto size the 2 banners to fit if they are too long?

no it won't. the banners should be no longer than 468. That's a web-wide standard size.

hmmmm the one i have right across the top at the moment 1240 and seems to be working ok, am i likely to run into problems with this? im assuming the 468 figure is per banner side by side?

As long as that's the only one there, that's fine.
But you can't run another banner side by side with it. It'll stretch your forum way out of whack.

I downloaded this one and coffeetime. I have a parenting forum and these two styles will be perfect!

peggy, i have been having problems with red tygers ad management hack....when i select side banners the main forum doesnt adjust itself to fit the side column, making the user have to scroll across screen.....i was told by red tyger its to do with the theme im using, is there a fix for this please?

Sorry Steve, but he's wrong. This is a fluid skin, 100% css-based. There are at least a couple of sites using this skin who installed a side column hack, and it adjusts to accommodate the side column. Why it doesn't do so on your forum with that particular hack, I have no idea, but I can easily put a side column on this skin here to prove that it does adjust :)

i think i did something wrong i cant get it to show, just the leaves are showing and thats if i rename it fallheadersample.jpg

If i keep it to fallheader.jpg and delete your fallheadersample.jpg then i get a red X

ashley, login to your adminCP, go to Styles & templates in the left hand menu. Then click on Style Manager.

Beside Fall Days, find the dropdown menu, click on it, and select Style Vars. Click on that.

In style Vars, scroll down to Image Paths, and in the very first box, for Title Image, make sure the image path is images/falldays/misc/fallheadersample.jpg

it was so i changed it to fallheader.jpg and in the ftp deleted fallheadersample and now i get the leaves but not the mommas hideout

I just don't get why you're having such a hard time.

OK if you deleted fallheadersample in ftp then you don't have any image uploaded for the header, since you renamed this image, correct?

IF you have fallheader.jpg in the image path in StyleVars, then you need to have an image named fallheader.jpg in images/falldays/misc in ftp.

IF the image is fallheadersample.jpg in stylevars, then that should be the name of the image in ftp.

ok I went to your site and the fallheader.jpg image that you have uploaded is the blank image. When you renamed the image to fallheader.jpg, you must not have uploaded it and overwritten the original fallheader.jpg

i got it...somehow i have no idea how...LOL

No don't resize it,. Hold on.

Here another one a bit smaller. You really can't resize it anymore, because the stripes in won't match up to the background.

Upload this via ftp, and overwrite the other one.
